Description by Rick
The meter cupboard door was broken and had to be replaced. Because I wanted the meter cupboard door to flow onto the hall wall, this had to be a door of exactly 1 centimeter. Because the temperature of the hall can be different from the temperature of the inside of the meter cupboard, an Okoumé waterproof and primed plate was chosen. To ensure a smooth transition, the top plate of the meter cupboard has also been replaced by the same material so that the thickness matches.
How I made this project
The dimensions of the plates are reasonable measured tightly so that it fits perfectly with the existing wall. The plate that functions as a door is attached with three surface-mounted renovation hinges. These are exactly one centimeter thick and are drilled onto the side of the plate which is also one centimeter thick. The top plate is drilled onto the frame. Akupanels have been glued over these ordered panels for a sleek look. The top plate is drilled onto the frame.
