A self-designed TV wall cabinet made of MDF to be painted, by Laura & Marijn

In this DIY project, Laura shares her experience with designing, assembling and painting a large custom television cabinet. She opted for a TOSIZE furniture cabinet in MDF that she could paint herself.

We wanted a television cabinet in which we could hang our Frame television (like a painting). We also provided plenty of storage space, because we just had a child, and room in the cupboard for nice things. We couldn't find the ideal cupboard anywhere that met all these conditions and was in the right color (for a good price). We are not super handy ourselves, but after asking a friend who had also bought a cupboard here, we dared to give it a try.

How I made this project

First made a nice design via the website. We pushed and tried a lot online and then had easy contact via e-mail and telephone. Especially the advice for the television business (how deep, how to hide the cables) helped us very well! When the cabinet was delivered as a kit, we put it together in one afternoon with 2 people. Really easy to do with the clear instructions that came with it! Painting (priming and finishing) was by far the most work. Hanging and adjusting the doors was a piece of cake (with the tip that the cupboard must be exactly level beforehand). We are very happy with the result!
